Austrian White Wine Collection – Box of 6
A selection of the finest Austrian White Wines, from the famous Grüner Veltliner to unique rarities like the Rotgipfler, Roter Veltliner & Gelber Muskateller - Austrian White Wine Case
Grüner Veltliner Löss, Zuschmann Schöfmann: Organic, single vineyard Grüner Veltliner, notes of ripe exotic fruit, caramel, intense and multi-layered. Whole bunch pressed and naturally fermented.
Wiener Gemischter Satz Petershof DAC, Christ
The Bisamberg Wiener Gemischter Satz Petershof DAC is a single vineyard field blend of Grüner Veltliner, the rare Neuburger, Riesling, Roter Veltliner, Traminer, Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and other varieties. Selective hand harvesting, short maceration on the skins and fermented slowly, matured on its fine lees, no fining. Wildflowers, peach and grapefruit, elegant and long, complex finish.
Rotgipfler Brindlbach, Biegler: A natural cross of the aromatic Traminer and Roter Veltliner this extremely rare autochton (indigenious) grape variety is typical for white wine village Gumpoldskirchen in the Thermenregion south of Vienna. Lots of tropical fruit, banana and mango, off dry with a lovely balance and an elegant and complex finish. Perfect match for Ceviche and Asian dishes.
Roter Veltliner, Weixelbaum: There are only 195 hectares of this very rare and unique Austrian grape variety, which celebrates a well-deserved comeback. The ‘red’ in its name refers to the pinkish hue of the grapes. Fresh acidity, zesty, crisp and youthful. A great summer wine! Organic, non-certified.
Scheurebe, Stefan Potzinger, Austrian White Wine,
Back at Kipferl: Botanist Georg Scheu created the grape variety Scheurebe in 1916 by crossing Riesling with Buket-Traube. The result is an aromatic, fruity white wine with aromas of stone and tropical fruit and with light residual sugar. A real hidden gem and excellent value!
Gelber Muskateller, Austrian White Wine, Stefan Potzinger
Light but heavily scented with a hint of apricot and mint, the aromatic Muskateller is celebrating a well-deserved comeback in Austria and beyond. Gelber Muskateller is the same as Muscat a petit grain, the smaller, more complex variety in the Muscat family.
