Punschkrapferl Austrian Pastry

With its unique pink colour and typical cube form, Punschkrapferl Austrian Pastry (or Punschkrapfen) is a staple in every Konditorei in Vienna and all over Austria. 

Dating back to the Viennese Coffeehouse Culture under the Habsburg reign, this traditional pastry in a cube shape is made of a light sponge cake filled with orange, apricot jam and a good touch of rum, and covered in the distinctive pink sugar glazing.
